Pre-school Visit - Jack and the Beanstalk

Today our afternoon was based around beans.  We read Jack and the Beanstalk, planted our own bean seeds, painted beanstalks and counted beans.  Just before home time, we had a play on the senior playground.

This was our last pre-school visit for the term.   I look forward to welcoming many of you back on Monday 16 October for your first day of school.  Pre-school visits will resume on Wednesday 18 October.    I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Look at our brilliant beanstalks.

Pre-school visit - Goldilocks and her porridge

Gee - time flies when we're having fun!  After reading the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Room 9 made porridge.  We all had a turn at stirring, and most of us were brave enough to try some.  There were some delicious toppings we could choose to add, but most of us just wanted to eat our porridge plain.

While most kids were busy exploring with the toys, playdough and creating finger puppets or bear masks, I got out our brand new whiteboards.  I worked with a few children at a time, writing their name and a short sentence.  Then we practised pointing to the words as they read their story.

See you all next week.  Can you guess what fairy tale we will explore?
